Byron M. McClure Times 10 Author

Dr. Byron McClure is a National Certified School Psychologist and proud Hampton University graduate dedicated to improving outcomes for historically marginalized youth.

After earning his doctorate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he led a school turnaround at Anacostia High School, earning the 2020 Whole Child Award. His work has been recognized by the Black SEL Summit and NASP.

A prominent voice in education, Byron has been featured by NPR and the APA. He created Lessons For SEL, a culturally responsive curriculum acquired by 7 Mindsets, and co-authored the bestseller Hacking Deficit Thinking. As a sought-after keynote speaker, he has addressed major school districts and associations nationwide.

Byron also developed School Psych AI to help psychologists automate evaluations and focus on student well-being. Tim Shriver has described him as a “transformative healer and justice leader.”

He lives with his wife, Dr. Audria McClure, and their three children. In his free time, Byron enjoys bringing new ideas to life, playing basketball with his son, and dancing with his kids.
