Jill M. Davis Times 10 Author

Dr. Jill M. Davis is a professor of education at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation courses. She holds a doctorate in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma–Tulsa, and a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern State University.

With thirteen years of experience as a public school early childhood teacher, Jill brings a trauma-responsive, constructivist lens to her work. She is dedicated to preparing both pre-service and practicing educators to support children’s social-emotional development in an increasingly academic-focused landscape.

Jill’s research and writing focus on advocacy as a pathway to equity, whether through trauma-responsive practices, developmentally appropriate instruction, or student-centered early childhood mathematics. Her work centers on empowering educators as catalysts for change, equipping them to lead with confidence, influence policy, and challenge systemic barriers that impact children, families, and the profession.

A frequent presenter at national, state, and local conferences, Jill bridges research and practice to inspire meaningful action. Her mission is to help educators find their voices as advocates and create learning environments where both teachers and children can thrive.

When she is not teaching, writing, or advocating, Jill enjoys crafting, crossword puzzles, and game nights with her husband and two children.
